San Francisco Zen Center has held a certain mystique for me. It has seemed almost legendary. My mentor in the college days once attended the center. Gaelyn Godwin of the Houston Zen Center was ordained through the SFZC lineage. It is a place where Zen landed on the shores of the United States and traveled far, bringing insight and hope to the nation.
